UK to run annual allocation rounds for green hydrogen projects
The UK government plans to run annual allocation rounds for electrolytic hydrogen from 2025 as part of a clean-hydrogen subsidy scheme, Kallanish reports.
The programme, which will use a contract-for-difference (CfD) style set-up, will help fund an initial 1 gigawatt of green hydrogen – enough to fuel up to 45,000 buses per year. By 2030, the government plans to have 10 GW of low carbon hydrogen production in the country.
