Unifor, GM Canada reach tentative agreement after strike
General Motors has reached a tentative contract agreement with Unifor, the union representing autoworkers in Canada, following strikes at three of its facilities.
Unifor’s previous contract with GM expired on Monday at 11:59pm (local time), triggering a labour strike at three of the automaker’s facilities. About 4,280 workers participated in the roughly 12-hour strike, which was officially ended just after 1:30pm on Tuesday.
