Volkswagen brands to begin using NACS in 2025
Volkswagen will start using the North American Charging Standard (NACS) charging port in 2025, alongside sister companies Audi, Porsche and Scout Motors.
The Tesla-developed NACS is an alternative to the Combined Charging System (CCS), which was introduced by several carmakers in 2012. According to Tesla, NACS connectors are twice as powerful as CCS connectors and enable faster charging times.
