Volt Lithium achieves 99.5% lithium carbonate through DLE
Canada’s Volt Lithium has reached another milestone with its direct lithium extraction (DLE) technology, having produced 99.5% battery-grade lithium carbonate using oilfield brine – a by-product in oilfields.
The lithium carbonate was produced at Volt’s permanent DLE demonstration plant in Calgary, Alberta. According to Volt, this lithium product meets saleable battery-grade lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide specifications.
