Accident raises concerns on Chinese steel investment in Thailand
Sinke Yuan (Xinkeyuan) Company Limited, a Chinese-backed steel company located in Pluak Daeng City of Rayong Province in Thailand, saw a crane collapse last week at the site of its steel plant, which is under construction.
The accident resulted in the death of 7 people and many injuries. The company has agreed to pay compensation of THB 1.6 million ($43,585) to each deceased family.
