Aceros Arequipa applies for Peru mining concession
Peru’s main EAF-based longs supplier, Aceros Arequipa, is evaluating the expansion of its operations by including mining in its activity, Kallanish notes.
The company has submitted a request to the Peruvian geological, mining and metallurgical institute (Ingemmet) for a mining concession for 500 hectares in the Junín region. The central area of the country is estimated to have large resources of raw materials.
