Ahmsa resumes production after weather-induced stoppage
Altos Hornos de México (Ahmsa) says it progressively restarted steel and mining operations over last weekend after electricity supply was guaranteed to all of its units on the afternoon of 19 February. Natural gas supply, however, remains at 50% of normal levels.
Last week the company was forced to stop activities after Mexico was hit by a snowstorm, which interrupted the country’s electricity and gas supply chains in 11 states (see Kallanish passim).…
