US import permit applications decline on-month
US steel import permit applications totalled 2.39 million short tons in February, down 3.1% from 2.47m st in January, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI).
Analysing the US Steel Import Monitor and Assessment (SIMA) monthly data, AISI reports that February applications reflect a 6.2% decrease from the final import total in January. January final imports into the US were 2.55m st.
