AK confirms Ashland closing in December
AK Steel has issued its final warning that its Ashland, Kentucky, works will close by the end of the year.
In a letter filed by AK with the Kentucky Office of Employment & Training , the company says about 260 employees will be affected by the final shuttering of the plant in December. The company acknowledged in January that the plant – large portions of which have been idled since 2015 – would be closed for good by year-end.
