Angang to commission hydrogen-based DRI project
Northern China's Anshan Iron & Steel (Angang) revealed in a reply to securities investors this week that it will run the hydrogen-based ironmaking project at its Bayuquan Plant in Yingkou City in 2023, Kallanish learns.
The project is expected to reach 10,000 tonnes/year of direct reduced iron production capacity. Compared with traditional carbon metallurgy, hydrogen metallurgy can help minimize dependence on fossil fuels.
