ArcelorMittal Brazil’s first-quarter production slows
ArcelorMittal’s production in Brazil fell on-quarter in the first quarter, Kallanish notes.
“The South American unit saw its performance decelerate q-o-q mainly due to the planned maintenance at Argentina-based Acindar. Production, however, was stable as compared to the same period last year,” the company comments. ArcelorMittal has maintained its previous forecast for apparent steel consumption in Brazil to fall in 2022, by 8-10% on-year.
