ArcelorMittal extends use of renewable energy in Brazil
ArcelorMittal will significantly increase the use of renewable energy in its entire production chain in Brazil, Kallanish notes. The steelmaker has signed a partnership agreement with Casa dos Ventos, one of the country’s largest producers of renewable energy, to develop a 554 megawatts wind power project.
ArcelorMittal will have a 55% stake in the joint venture, after the Brazilian antitrust body approved the deal on 13 April.
