Austria’s steel production rebounds slightly in May
Austria’s steelmakers increased crude steel production sequentially in May, according to worldsteel data.
Output amounted to 660,000 tonnes, up by 1.4% compared to the previous month but less by 1% on-year, Kallanish notes.
In January-May, the country produced 3.14 million tonnes of steel, down 5.2% on-year.
In 2022, Austria reduced steel production by 4.7% on-year to 7.51mt.
