Baosteel lifts February flats offers, Shougang shows caution
China’s Baosteel has announced increases in its flat steel offers for February this year, but Shougang chose to keep prices stable, Kallanish notes.
Baosteel will add CNY 100/tonne ($15/t) to products including hot-rolled, cold rolled, galvanized, galvalume flat steel, and thick plate. For coated and non-oriented silicon steel with low silicon content, the increase is only CNY 50/t, compared to CNY 150/t for pickled steel.
