Canadian steelmakers welcome government’s emissions reduction plan
The Canadian Steel Producers Association is welcoming the introduction of the federal government’s 2030 Emissions Reduction Plan, saying it provides businesses with better clarity and certainty as the nation moves towards a net-zero emissions future.
Under the plan, the iron and steel sector is projected to achieve a 35% reduction in emissions by 2030. The baseline is 2005, Kallanish notes.
