Chinese automotive demand struggles to recover
China’s automotive sector began its seasonal recovery in September. Year-on-year however both production and steel demand remain down, Kallanish notes.
In September, China produced 2.21 million vehicles, down -6.2% y-o-y but up from 1.99m the previous month. Over the first nine months of the year, production is now down -11.4% y-o-y at 18.15m units.
