Chinese steel futures glide into the holidays
Chinese steel futures slid with little fanfare into the holiday period, with those for rebar doing slightly better than hot rolled coil, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange the May rebar contract closed at CNY 3,934/tonne ($620/t), CNY 16/t higher than Tuesday, while the same contract for hot rolled coil closed down CNY 1/t at CNY 3,984/t.
