Construction contractor backlogs hit recent low in US
The Associated Builders and Contractors' (ABC) non-residential construction backlog indicator recently fell to the lowest level seen since the summer of last year, as contractors face slashed spending budgets and rising material costs for projects. Kallanish notes that this decline in construction momentum will likely have an impact on domestic US rebar prices due to contractors facing tighter spending budgets plans for their projects.
