UK Court throws out Samarco case appeal
The UK Court of Appeal has thrown out an appeal against a court ruling last year that dismissed a lawsuit against BHP over the Samarco dam disaster, law firm PGMBM tells Kallanish.
Samarco co-owner BHP received an estimated £5 billion ($6.9 billion) in claims from around 200,000 individuals, 25 Brazilian municipal governments, 530 businesses, a Catholic archdiocese and members of the Krenak indigenous community.
