Demand increases German scrap prices but reduction foreseen
German scrap prices have increased in November due to new purchases from domestic steel mills, according to German scrap market participants. However, the expectation is that the market will soon stabilise and prices will begin to fall amid annual maintenance at mills, sources say.
Prices in southern, northern and eastern Germany have increased by €30/tonne ($34/t) this month, a German market participant tells Kallanish.
