Emirates Steel rolls over rebar price
Emirates Steel (ESI) has rolled over its domestic rebar prices from February at AED 2,735/tonne ($745) ex-works, for March deliveries, as expected by market participants.
The retail market did not respond to the steelmaker’s increase of its February quote by $15/t from January, with retail prices remaining unchanged. Over the last week, retail prices have in fact declined.
The rollover was therefore the best chance for ESI to secure some margin before…
