Erdemir to build new blast furnace
Erdemir plans to build a new 1,850 m³ capacity blast furnace near the site of blast furnace no.2 at its Eregli steelworks, Kallanish learns from the Turkish flat steelmaker.
Once the new BF is commissioned, BF2 will be revamped and is expected to continue production for a further 15 years.
The Turkish steelmaker also says it has selected the technology supplier for its “2nd Hot Rolling Mill Quality and Sustainability Investment Project” …
