European scrap price trends are changing radically due to Monday’s earthquake in Turkey, sources in the market tell Kallanish.
The first February contracts in Europe had been indicating increases of €20-30/tonne ($21-32) depending on the country. However, following the earthquake, most mills in Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Eastern Europe intend to decrease their prices or consolidate the values paid in January.
