Vestas sources ArcelorMittal low-emission plate for Polish offshore
Vestas has established a partnership with ArcelorMittal to source low-emission heavy plate for wind turbine tower production.
The steel is produced using 100% steel scrap melted in an electric arc furnace powered by 100% wind energy at ArcelorMittal’s Industeel Charleroi steelworks in Belgium. The resulting slab is then rolled into heavy plate at ArcelorMittal’s Gijon plant in Spain.
