Evraz expects steel consumption in Russia to increase
Russia’s steel demand will improve in 2023 due to engineering industry demand and the implementation of infrastructure projects, according to Evraz forecasts.
Steel consumption in Russia will increase to about 50 million tonnes this year, up by 6% on-year, the steelmaker says. There are more infrastructure projects in the country, mechanical engineering is actively developing, and pent-up demand from 2022 is also being registered, the enterprise claims.
