Ferrous futures edge up on inventory declines
As overall inventories of rebar and hot rolled coil fell in the past week, Chinese futures of the two products also edged up slowly on Thursday, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the most-traded October 2023 rebar contract ended Thursday at CNY 3,740/tonne ($513/t), up CNY 27/t on the prior day. The same contract for HRC gained CNY 10/t to CNY 3,880/t.
