Ferrous futures slip on near-record output
Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil futures edged down from nine-month highs on Wednesday, due to surging steel production reported by the National Bureau of Statistics for the first two months of the year, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the most-traded May 2023 rebar contract closed CNY 41/tonne lower than Tuesday at CNY 4,332/t ($628/t), while the same contract for HRC lost CNY 29/t to CNY 4,438/t.
