Gerdau to upgrade Riograndense plant, temporarily halt production
Brazilian steelmaker Gerdau says it will temporarily close production at its Riograndense plant to undertake upgrade works, Kallanish learns from the company.
The project will start in February and should be completed in the first quarter of 2023.
The BRL 200 million ($36.9m) investment involves the modernisation of the Sapucaia do Sul steelworks, implementing new digital technology and improving environmental and safety conditions in the production processes.
