German scrap market remains quiet, expects stable prices
German scrap prices increased very slightly in mid-December after most steel mills in Europe finished restocking, according to German scrap market participants. Most sources expect the market will be stable amid the Christmas holiday and annual maintenance season.
Prices in southern Germany are unchanged, while in some other parts of the country they increased only by €10/tonne ($11/t) this month, a Bavarian buyer tells Kallanish.
