German scrap prices fall amid low demand
German scrap prices decreased in the first weeks of May due to low demand and export deals, say local market participants. They expect values to continue to fall amid low purchases from steel mills.
“There are very few deals so far for German scrap, because there is weak demand from domestic steel producers and from the European market,” one buyer tells Kallanish.
