German scrap prices increase, exports continue to Turkey
German scrap prices have increased in mid-February amid higher demand and exports, say local market participants. However, the market has cooled after the first two weeks of the month.
“In the first ten days, most steel plants showed some demand amid restoking,” a merchant from Bavaria tells Kallanish. “Some increase in export prices made it possible for domestic traded scrap prices to rise in Germany.”
