Germany’s scrap exports fall, deliveries to India surge
Germany’s ferrous scrap exports and imports decreased in January-November 2023, according to data from the German federal statistics office.
Exports totalled 7.2 million tonnes, down 2% on-year, Kallanish notes. Shipments to Switzerland fell by the most, while deliveries to India bucked the trend, more than doubling.
The total export value was €3.7 billion ($3.16 billion), compared to the previous year's value of €4.6 billion.
