Germany’s scrap exports, imports decrease in 2023
Germany’s ferrous scrap exports and imports decreased in 2023, according to data from the German federal statistics office.
Exports totalled 7.61 million tonnes, down 3% on-year, Kallanish notes. This is the lowest export volume since the economic and financial crisis of 2009. Shipments to Switzerland and Belgium fell by the most, but deliveries to India increased.
