Hyundai bids much higher for Japanese H2 scrap
Japanese scrap prices continue to spiral upwards in South Korea, Kallanish notes. Leading South Korean electric arc furnace-based steelmaker Hyundai Steel raised its bid prices for Japanese scrap on Thursday by JPY 1,000-3,000/tonne ($9-26/t) in its regular purchase auction.
Hyundai’s latest bid price for H2 is at JPY 55,000/t ($473/t) fob, up JPY 3,000/t from its previous auction on 27 January. Its bid for shredded scrap was at JPY 59,500/t and for HS …
