India mandates ministry approval for non-BIS steel imports
The Indian government has mandated steel ministry approval for imports of steel that have not been cleared by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), the ministry informs in a circular seen by Kallanish.
“All the steel importers importing steel without a BIS licence [must] mandatorily apply and seek clarification from the Ministry of Steel through the Quality Control Order [QCO] Portal for each and every imported steel consignment,” the ministry informs.…
