Indian steel, cement net-zero requires mammoth investment: CEEW
India’s existing steel and cement plants will require INR 47 trillion ($564 billion) in additional capital expenditure to achieve net-zero carbon emissions, according to the Council on Energy, Environment, and Water (CEEW).
According to CEEW, these two sectors will also need INR 1 trillion each year in additional operational expenditure to reach net zero, Kallanish notes.
