Indian imported scrap inches up, nearby markets quiet
Imported offers for ferrous scrap in the Indian market edged up by $5/tonne last week amid steady buying sentiment in the country.
The price for EU-origin shredded scrap is assessed at $418-420/t, while West African-origin HMS (80:20) is in the range of $397-402/t cfr India, notes Kallanish.
While a significant number of buyers bid at $5/t below offers, a few trades were also concluded at the rates quoted by suppliers.
