India’s June sponge iron, pig iron exports surge
Indian sponge iron exports surged 33% on-year to 115,255 tonnes in June versus 86,980t exported a year ago, according to customs data monitored by Kallanish.
Nepal was the biggest destination for Indian sponge iron, with exports increasing 191% on-year to 85,050t in June. Other major destinations include Bangladesh (20,035t) and Bhutan (9,950t).
