Italian scrap flattens, some mild decreases registered
Italian scrap prices are largely stable on-week but a few buyers are reducing their values by around €5/tonne ($5.4). Demand from mills for February delivery is at expected levels, although one mill will lower purchasing volumes next month because of underperforming finished product sales, market sources tell Kallanish.
Under pressure from high processing costs and weak sales, some local rebar makers are expected to try to reduce scrap purchasing prices.…
