Japanese scrap export tender settles lower
Japanese scrap export prices have fallen in the latest Kanto Tetsugen monthly export tender, Kallanish notes.
In the latest tender, which opened on 9 December, Shinsho Corp was awarded 3,000 tonnes at JPY 47,710/tonne ($351/t) fas, JFE Shoji Trade Corp secured 5,000t at JPY 47,610/t, and Sangyo Shinko Co received 5,000t at JPY 47,442/t. The average tendered price was JPY 47,568/t fas, or the equivalent of around JPY 48,500/t fob.
