Japanese scrap prices dwindle in export markets

Leading South Korean mill Hyundai Steel has lowered its bid prices for Japanese scrap, Kallanish notes. At the same time, the Vietnamese market is seeing muted interest for Japanese scrap. The South Korean steelmaker's bids on 11 May were at JPY 46,300/tonne ($344/t) for H2 grade scrap, and at JPY 46,800/t for H1/H2 grade.
