Japanese scrap prices spiral upwards
Hyundai Steel has raised its bid prices for Japanese scrap in its weekly purchase auction, Kallanish notes. The South Korean mill raised its bids by JPY 1,500-3,500/tonne ($12-29/t) on 24 March.
The mill's latest bid price for H2 is at JPY 65,000/t ($535/t) fob, which is JPY 1,500/t higher than its 17 March auction. Its bids for shredded scrap and HS grade are at JPY 70,500/t, up JPY 2,000/t on-week, and its bid for Shindachi Bara (loose) s…
