June imports rise in US
US imports appear to have risen significantly on-month in June, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
The US imported a total of 2.897 million short tons in June, 2.018m st of which were finished - or an increase of 14.8% and 8.7%, respectively, from May.
On-month, hot-rolled sheet imports increased by 48% and cold-rolled sheet imports increased by 19%. Oilcountry tubular good imports also increased by 35%.
