LatAm April primary iron production rises
Latin American primary iron production increased month-on-month in April, but it was down from 2021, Kallanish learns from regional steel producers' association Alacero.
According to figures, regional primary iron production was 3.37 million tonnes in the month, 2% more over March but 3.8% lower year-on-year.
Of this total, pig iron represented 2.73mt, while sponge iron amounted to 641,800t. Pig iron output was up by 1.6% m-o-m but 3.1% less y-o-y.
