South American and Mexican crude steel production decreased month-on-month in February, according to the latest worldsteel data monitored by Kallanish.
South American crude steel output totalled 3.22 million tonnes in February, down 10.4% m-o-m. Output was also down 3.1% compared to the volume of 3.32mt in the same period in 2022. During the first two months, crude steel production amounted to 6.81mt, down 2.1% on January-February 2022.
