LatAm crude steel production recovers in November
Latin America saw crude steel production rise sequentially in November 2021, says regional steelmakers’ association Alacero. Output also remained high over the first 11 months, Kallanish notes.
Regional crude steel production reached 5.41 million tonnes in the month, 1.6% more than October’s volume of 5.33mt and up by just 1% on-year. From this volume, 2.88mt were produced through the blast furnace route and 2.53mt by EAFs.
