Latin American crude steel production decreased month-on-month in December, Kallanish learns from regional steelmakers’ association Alacero. Output was also weaker compared to a year earlier.
Regional crude steel production reached 4.74 million tonnes, down 4.8% or 240,100 tonnes over November and 4.7% less on-year. Of this volume, 2.1mt were produced through the electric arc furnace route and 2.64mt by blast-basic oxygen furnaces.
