Low fuel prices drag down December construction costs
US average construction costs fell in December, largely due to sagging fuel prices, but most other construction inputs remain up on year, Kallanish learns from the Associated General Contractors of America.
The producer price index for all construction inputs fell by -0.8% from November to December, though the index is up 3.8% from December 2017. December’s figure includes an -11.5% monthly and -3.9% yearly drop in fuel energy costs.
