China's MEP brings forward steel capacity cut deadlines
On 21 August China’s Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP) issued a comprehensive air pollution control action plan for the autumn and winter periods of 2017-2018 to reduce smog around Beijing. It also requires that Hebei, Shandong and Henan provinces complete their steel and coke capacity annual reduction targets before 15 November, Kallanish notes.
