MEP decrees three-month closures for rule-breaking steelmakers
China’s Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP) has detailed how it would order companies which violate emissions standards to stop production on 30 October. Steelmakers polluting without emission permits, committing environmental protection data fraud or emitting more than their licenced emission levels can be ordered to stop production for three months, according to the newly launched regulations, Kallanish notes.
